The ship was, I believe, the last commercial vessel built at Palermo and the last of 500 Australian registered ocean going vessels built on Brisbane Water in a 120 year long history. I also believe It was the only Royal Australian Navy ship ever sunk in Australian Waters by enemy action. Peter Rae
